4/20/2023 0 Comments Fez hat origin![]() Given 2-3 chances, plus an abysmal drop-rate on any of the aforementioned ultra-rares, makes you run this dungeon anywhere from 3-4000 times before seeing anything. The one thing that was not level-adjusted, simply because it does not abide to a certain level range is the one thing in Uldaman that can still drop any zone BoE drop, is the Ancient Treasure cache, following Archaedes. The monsters that drop these items still treat them the same as they would have done before - so a mob that would have dropped The Jackhammer, whose level was previously higher, will now not drop it - the item is still recorded as being the same as it was in Vanilla - the mobs are just unable to drop it due to their own levels. Whilst the levels themselves were changed, Uldaman itself, whilst adjusted for the Badlands level range, was not upgraded, besides a few tweeks to the Ironaya fight, & the dungeon quests. ![]() The thing people don't realize is why exactly, they don't drop:īack during the renovations, the items themselves were downgraded to a base item level of 40, with level 35 required, as you can see in the present tooltip. This is incorrect.īoE drops of an item level equal to or above 44 cannot drop from any mob in the instance, given they're four levels ahead of anything in there. It's a truly unique item, & not planning to let it go without a hefty offer.īesides the Papal Fez, with a measley item level of 43, other items such as the Jackhammer, Digmaster 5000, Pendulum of Doom, and most infamously the fabled Miner's Hat of the Deep, are thought to be discontinued. The hat dropped for me on my 34th run, from a Stone Keeper (level 40). With a maximum of ten instances per hour, you'd be farming this for weeks before you even had a chance of seeing it. Given about 5-7 chances to see the Fez, specifically, drop, in one of the power-runs as described above, would give you approx. ![]() Power-farming Uldaman, simply by ignoring all optional bosses, using the back-door entrance before Fuselight to run through the Obsidian Sentinel, and going via the Stone Keepers to Archaedes & subsequently the Ancient Treasure cache, takes an average of 5 minutes, - less if you use a hearthstone to pop out to fuselight. Given the already insanely low drop-per-run chance of this item, and the fact you'd have to run around 1000 full-clears to see this, on average, farming it is not advised. The Papal Fez has a chance to drop a total of 12-13 times in one run, given all six level 40 bosses, including Archaedes, are defeated - all four stone keepers are slain, and the Ancient Treasure chest at the end of the instance is looted (2-3 items per run). According to the way iLvLs factor into drop chance, a Level 40 mob can drop items with a maximum item level of 43. In the Cataclysm renovations, Uldaman's level range was lowered, to the point where only a handful (approximately 10) mobs, including 6 bosses, would have a chance to drop any ultra-rare item with an item level of 43 - three levels above the level of the mob. Such items as the Pendulum of Doom, Miner's Hat of the Deep, currently sell for hundreds of thousands of gold due to the current rarity. Uldaman is significant because its drops are originally thought to have maintained the lowest drop rate. The drop rates on these items are similar to that of Blackfathom Deeps, Razorfen Downs, Razorfen Kraul, & the original Scarlet Monastery dungeons that are now discontinued content - along with the most notable instance of this kind, Shadowfang Keep.Īll of these dungeons had drops that originally sold for hundreds, maybe thousands of gold even before their drop rates were altered. Uldaman happened to drop a selection of these BoE rares. Comment by 1346597This is an ultra ultra-rare item, & here's the story of why:īack before the old world was revamped (before Patch 4), certain dungeons had BoE blues as zone drops - sometimes with a higher drop-rate (.5-1%) sometimes lower, and sometimes incredibly low (0.01-0.02%).
